The easiest way to plan a good meal in Madrid is to start with where your sightseeing day will end. A restaurant that fits the neighborhood saves a cross-city detour, gives you more flexibility and turns dinner into part of the route rather than one more task on the schedule.
After Sol, Plaza Mayor or Gran Vía
The Matbah on Calle de Tetuán is the most convenient of the six for the historic core. Choose it for shawarma, falafel, rice plates and grills when your day ends near Puerta del Sol or Gran Vía.
After the Prado or Barrio de las Letras
Indian Aroma on Calle de Ventura de la Vega offers a seated North Indian meal close to Sevilla metro. It pairs well with the Prado, Thyssen, Plaza de Santa Ana or a literary-quarter walk.
After Bernabéu or Las Ventas
Casa Habibi fits a Bernabéu and Tetuán itinerary with Syrian shawarma and group platters. Shukran City pairs naturally with Las Ventas for Lebanese mezze and grilled dishes. Layali near El Carmen is another eastern option when steak and burgers suit the group.
For a destination dinner
Beytna in Hortaleza is the strongest choice when dinner itself is the evening plan. Reserve for a relaxed Jordanian-Lebanese meal with mezze, wood-fired bread and charcoal grills.
