Ventas Madrid Guide: Las Ventas, Shukran City and Local Flavor

Ventas feels different from the postcard version of central Madrid. The bullring dominates the first impression, but Calle de Alcalá and the surrounding streets reward a little extra time, especially if you finish the walk with Lebanese food at Shukran City.

Getting there

Ventas metro station is served by Lines 2 and 5, making the area accessible from both central and eastern Madrid. Line 2 is especially convenient from Sol. Exit near the bullring, orient yourself on Calle de Alcalá and continue on foot.

What to see

The Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas is the neighborhood’s most recognizable landmark. Even travelers who do not attend an event can appreciate the exterior architecture and scale. Check event-day conditions because crowds and controlled access may affect the area.

Lebanese food at Shukran City

Shukran City – Ventas is at Calle de Alcalá 200. Its menu includes hummus, falafel, tabbouleh, cheese manakeesh, wraps, charcoal-grilled dishes and baklava. The variety makes it suitable for mixed groups and travelers who prefer vegetarian mezze.

  • Fast option: charcoal-grilled chicken wrap
  • Shared option: hummus, tabbouleh and manakeesh
  • Full meal: Plato Shukran or grilled chicken
  • Dessert: baklava

Plan the neighborhood stop

Combine the bullring exterior and dinner into one late-afternoon or evening outing. Check Shukran City’s Wwain listing before traveling.

Line 2 connects Sol and Ventas directly, making this an easy dinner excursion from the historic center.
